Canberra Hiking Walking Group
CanHike Mingle Walking Group
Canberra Hike (CanHike) is a unique community-based organisation whose members come from many counties around the world.
Health & Friendship
The community group fosters intercultural diversity and social harmony through hiking, other outdoor activities in Canberra and the surrounding regions.
All activities aim to promoting the physical and mental health and well-being of its members and of the community at large.
Since 2021, members have been organising regular weekend hikes, nature walks, and participating in community events.
Also some group members living close to each other, get together for walks in the course of the week across suburbs.
The CanHike group cater for all ages and abilities, with walks ranging in difficulty from very easy to mountainous.
CanHike’s membership organically grew, providing an attractive option to indoor exercise.
The group brings together people who share a love for the outdoors and nature. They hike and explore the beautiful natural landscape of the Canberra region. Through this, they each have the opportunity to connect with others, learn, and build friendships and networks across professional and cultural boundaries.
“Our vision is to create multicultural and diverse nature lovers who come together to explore the beauty of the great Canberra outdoors and inspire each other to live healthy and active lifestyles.”
CanHike strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment where all members can challenge themselves, connect with nature, and forge meaningful relationships.
The managing committee’s goal is to cultivate a deep appreciation for the natural world and promote responsible stewardship of our planet as well as promoting physical and mental wellbeing of one another.
